Art & Illustration
brushstrokes that breathe life into myth and memory.
I’m a digital illustrator working in Procreate, blending Slavic folk traditions with painterly romanticism and hyperrealistic detail. My art lives at the intersection of story and sensation — whether I’m designing evocative book covers, intricate fantasy maps, or luminous character portraits.
Drawing inspiration from the ornate folklore of Ivan Bilibin, the sensual elegance of Alphonse Mucha, the emotional intensity of Ilya Repin, the symbolic intimacy of Frida Kahlo, and the bold watercolor fluidity and intensity of Georgia O’Keeffe, my work channels a style often described as painterly realism or romantic folk realism — rich with texture, emotion, and narrative depth. I specialize in character design that feels hand-painted and immersive, rooted more in storybook wonder than flat or graphic styles.
Each piece is a visual storytelling experience crafted to elevate fantasy worlds and the people who inhabit them.
Whether you're here for the book covers, the maps, or the magic between them. Welcome.

Book Covers
Covers begin as concepts built in Canva using placeholder artifacts, which I then redraw and reimagine in Procreate using custom watercolor and oil brushes. During this stage, I add original components, refine the color palette to match the tone of the story, and unifie the style with painterly texture and depth. Final touches — including lettering and subtle tone adjustments — are completed back in Canva, blending digital precision with handcrafted detail.

enchanted forests
These portraits draw deeply from Slavic folk art and mythology, placing characters within a magical forest that reflects the essence of their powers. Painted in Procreate, these pieces weaves symbolic motifs, folkloric patterns, and natural textures to evoke an enchanted, ancestral world. A visual exploration of identity, magic, and myth — seen through the lens of romantic folk realism.

Character Portraits
These hyperrealistic character portraits were painted entirely in Procreate, from sketch to final detail. Though grounded in painterly realism, each piece leans into lifelike texture and emotional depth — with expressive, captivating eyes and richly detailed backgrounds that evoke the tone and atmosphere of the story. A blend of intimacy and drama, crafted brushstroke by brushstroke.

Lena Solis: All the Rules I Break
These two portraits of Lena, the main character of All the Rules I Break, were created in Procreate and finished with lettering in Canva. Rendered in a romantic folk realism style, they draw heavily on Slavic folk art traditions — blending intricate patternwork, symbolic motifs, and painterly texture to reflect Lena’s depth, strength, and mystery.

Character Concepts
Before I invest the significant amount of time needed to create a realistic portrait I often create concept pieces. I like to bring the main cast to life in an illustration style to make sure I capture personality and aesthetic worldbuilding.
